The Consolidated Edison Transformer Oil Gas Analyzer (TGA) is anElectronics Performance Support System developed by DHR Technologies,Inc. The TGA diagnoses operational faults in electrical transformers byanalyzing output acquired directly from gas chromatographs or from manualsample input from field technicians. After a gas chromatograph determineswhich gases are suspended in a sample of transformer oil, an embeddedexpert system analyzes the gas limits, ratios, and transformer historyand then produces a detailed transformer diagnosis.TGA makes detailed transformer diagnostic knowledge available tononexperts, evaluates historical data, provides consistency across alldiagnosis, thereby expediting the processing of transformer samples, andproviding timely information on potential transformer failures.
